where he lies with a bullet through his brain

the child peers through the windows of houses and into the hearts of mothers
this child who just wanted to play in the sun at Nyanga is everywhere
the child grown to a man treks through all Africa

那孩子沒死，不在朗加不在加彭，不在奧蘭多也不在沙佩維爾...這是南非總統曼德拉在1994年就職典禮中朗讀英格曼瓊蔻（卡莉絲范荷登飾）詩文中的一段，出自於《Die kind wat dood geskiet is deur soldate by Nyanga》（一個在加彭被士兵射殺的孩子）一詩中（上面有英文全文），他在目擊一個孩子因為生病卻因為苦無通行證，慘遭攔路警察擊殺後寫出的一首詩，也描寫著當時南非對於種族歧視問題。
我不在這裡探討政治、種族，我只是看到了父親與女兒的角色。
從小父母離異與外婆同住到8歲才回到父親身邊，父親因痛恨母親連帶也痛恨
英格曼，一幕一幕上演衝突著。
女兒渴望父親的讚賞，但父親一直批評她的人生，甚至到決裂的地步。
在婚姻中失敗的父親，看到英格曼就想到人生的失敗，尤其他是權高位重的成功人仕。
英格曼從父親那兒得不到父愛，便在男人中索討愛情。她是贊同濫交的。
同時也是拒絕負責任像小孩般耍賴與無辜，最後在精神病與寫作無法突破下跳海自殺。

這部電影很沉重但不失探討臍輪議題、原型人格卡的分類。滿有趣的!!
